Major Components

The Sample-Vac System consists of the following major components:

Sampler Spool

The 316 SS spool piece can be made any size to be "tri-clamped" into the existing process chute. It consists of an air cylinder, which extends a machined shaft, with sample cavity, into the process stream. The cavity fills with powder and the shaft is then retracted from the process. The sampling shaft resides in a Teflon bearing which is purged and which is completely flush with the spool piece wall, providing no protrusion into the process when not being used. A filter is installed on the air intake line.

Sample Jar and Primary Filter

The sample is vacuumed to a jar and filter assembly which can be mounted in a convenient location for access. Sample jars can be provided in 8, 16 or 32 ounce sizes. The primary filter element is pourous poyeltelene and is replaceable. This assembly is connected to the sampler via _" vacuum hose, which is easily removed and replaced, rather than cleaned.

Vacuum Pump and HEPA Filter

The PIAB vacuum pump is mounted on a HEPA filter assembly which consists of a Black plastic housing and a quick connect, _" push tube connection. The PIAB pump is an MLLD100 pump. It requires a compressed air supply of 12.5 psi @ 87 psi for optimum performance and is capable of pulling a 28" Hg. Vacuum.

Pneumatic Control Panel

Controlling the entire sampling operation and sequencing is a completely pneumatic control panel. The panel includes adjustable timers for each step of the sampling operation. A pressure gauge, 3- way selector switch and "E-Stop" are conveneiently located on the front of the panel. Electronic panels for PLC interface are also available, if preferred or required.

If you have a sampling requirement, we hope that you will give us a call to discuss your specific requirements.
