Sample-Vac

To help address these issues, IEDCO has developed Sample-Vac, an automatic sampler which has no moving parts, can handle any powder, can be located anywhere, can deliver the sample anywhere within fifteen feet and is safe and hygienic.

Very simply, we install a spool piece in the process chute. A specially machined shaft is extended into the product flow and a cavity is filled with powder. The shaft retracts and the sample is vacuumed form the cavity with a PIAB vacuum pump.

The product is drawn to a sample jar where the sample "drops out". The air and any dust continue through a primary filter and then to a final HEPA filter on which the pump is mounted.

A control panel provides for the automatic sequencing of all functions and provides adjustable timers to meet the needs of the specific installation.

The system is completely pneumatic and is inherently safe for installation in any hazardous environment. Alternatively, the controls can be electronic and tied into a PLC system.
