IEDCOVEYOR
AUTOMATES TABLET PRESS FEED:
NO SEGREGATION NO HEADLOAD VARIATION
Sewell, NJ - February
1, 2000
IEDCO, Industrial Equipment
& Design Company, during this past year, has
installed over a dozen automated tablet press feed systems
at four different major pharmaceutical companies.
These systems have eliminated all of the containment,
safety and ergonomic issues previously associated with
manually scooping powders from a drum, climbing a ladder
and dumping powder into the tablet press feed hopper.
In addition, the new Tablet Press Feed Systems are able
to maintain a very even head load on the press, thereby
improving and maximizing compression consistency.
Powder segregation is eliminated by virtue of the systems
ability to vacuum transfer in a “dense phase”
mode of operation.
The new Tablet Press
Feed Systems are pneumatically operated and designed
to sit safely on top of and straddle the press feed
hopper. They are small, easily handled and easily cleaned.
Powder is vacuum transferred from the drum, through
a sanitary vacuum feed nozzle, and deposited into the
press feed hopper in response to a level probe which
is part of the IEDCOveyor tablet press feed
kit. A wall socket and a 3/8” air supply
is all that is needed. IQ and OQ Documentation is available.
